Perfect surfaces for wooden objects of any shape
The quality and perception of each piece is significantly determined by its surface. Flat surfaces can be cleaned or smoothed with a plane. More difficult are concave and convex surfaces, the internal surfaces of bodies and irregularly shaped components. Up until now, sanding by machine was not possible, while sanding by hand was time consuming. The Swedish manufacturer Kirjes fills this gap with its own integrated grinding and polishing system – a big leap in quality and at the same time an easier way to work. A sleeve made of particularly flexible abrasive cloth is positioned on a cylindrical or hemispherical abrasive and inflated via the drive shaft with a special air pump. The result is elastic abrasives that adapt perfectly to various surfaces. In addition to the abrasive sleeves, a brushing and polishing sleeve is also available for each of the four abrasives, which not only gives the workpiece the finishing touch, but also enables the surfaces to be polished. All abrasives are clamped in the spindle of a 130 cm long flexible shaft. Ideal for the interior surfaces of turned or carved vases, even in hard to reach places, spoons, musical instruments, sculptures, ornaments, wooden toys, jewellery, knife handles and much more.
