With the Forstner cylindrical drill bit set, you can drill precise, square and smooth holes in soft wood of any size, drill at any angle to create ovals or arched openings and make recesses for attaching rails or supports.

Drills available in the following diameters (inches): 1/4" - 3/8" - 1/2" - 5/8" - 3/4" - 7/8" - 1".

TIPS AND WARNINGS

-Make repeated shallow cuts by allowing the bit to cool for two to three seconds between passes. This will increase the life of your tool. Overheating caused by chip buildup or constant contact with the cutting surface will remove the hardness from the cutting edges of the bit.

-You can extend the life of your tool by not exceeding the maximum allowable rotational speed for the type of wood. Forcing the bit during machining can cause it to overheat.

-Remove chips from each machined hole before moving on to the next one.

-Small drill bits can be inserted into electric hand drills, but the results are not always satisfactory. Conversely, using a bit larger than 19mm in diameter with these drills can cause injury if the tool comes in contact with certain imperfections in the wood.

-Always wear eye and ear protection before using power tools.
